Wi-Fi Coverage
Wi-Fi coverage in a hospice will normally include patient bedrooms, public areas, offices and meeting rooms. Patient bedrooms and public areas should be provided with free Wi-Fi with a simple password and sign on. For security reasons their public Wi-Fi services should be segregated from the administrative network.
Hospice buildings usually use dense block-work for patient bedrooms to minimize noise transmission between rooms. These blocks also reduce Wi-Fi signals and it is usually best to provide a simple low-cost wireless access point in each bedroom.
Smart TVs also require an Internet connection which can be shared with the public Wi-Fi network by providing two data points in each patient bedroom.
